Before, During and After Femto-LASIK and LASIK Surgery

Are you interested in vision correction surgery?
Many of our patients gather information about the possibilities of refractive surgery by browsing this Website or by attending one of our free informational seminars. More…

Pre-operative Examination
During your first visit, you will receive a thorough (2-3 hours) eye examination, followed by a consultation with one of our surgeons. Together, the two of you will discuss the results of your examination, as well as your expectations and concerns, and select the most appropriate surgical procedure(s) for your specific needs. If you decide to have the surgical procedure(s) done in our clinic, you will receive an appointment, usually one to three weeks later. More…

Do you wear contact lenses?
Patients who wear contact lenses must refrain from wearing their lenses 2 weeks prior to corneal surgery (LASIK, LASEK, PRK).

On the Day of Surgery
Refractive surgery is typically an out-patient procedure, but we offer supervised, overnight accommodation for our patients who request them.
On the day of surgery, please arrive at our clinic accompanied by a friend or family member. If they choose to, they can watch your procedure via closed-circuit monitor.
Your eyes will be examined once again, by one of our doctors, before the procedure. Afterwards, a clinical assistant will accompany you to one of our sterile operating rooms. If you select the LASIK procedure, both eyes will be treated on the same day, using 2 different sterile sets of instruments. For all other procedures, the second eye will be treated after a few weeks.
You’ll receive an “ALZ post-op set” which contains eye drops, protective sunglasses and emergency information. More…

Recovery Time-After Surgery
We will advise you on what you should and should not do immediately after your surgery. This generally involves taking some time to relax and enjoy your new vision and independence. For the first 2 weeks you should avoid physical strain, such as swimming, sauna, solarium. More…
